Matthew Eichel is an attorney focused on commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining BLG, Matthew interned at a real estate law firm, where he worked on a variety of litigation and transactional matters covering such issues as commercial leasing, residential closings, condominium and cooperative disputes, lease holdover cases, and mortgage foreclosures. Matthew also focused on real estate during his internship in the legal department of a global fashion company, assisting in the drafting and review of the company’s retail leases and corporate events agreements. Additionally, Matthew has experience with intellectual property law, which he gained when he advised independent filmmakers and musicians on licenses and agreements as a student attorney in the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Indie Film Clinic. He also interned at a volunteer organization which counseled artists and art organizations on their intellectual property rights.
Matthew earned his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Distinguished Scholar and served as an Articles Editor on the Cardozo Law Review. Matthew earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Colgate University.
